As of three weeks ago, I was notified that The Bascom Center for the Visual Arts in Highlands, NC had accepted my application as their ceramic artist in residence for the Fall 2017. As of mid August, I will be living, teaching & making work while nestled in the folds of the Nantahala National Forest. Excitement, check lists, fears & questions all run through my head on a regular basis as I prepare for my swift departure of sweet Greenville, SC. However, the response and support of so many in Greenville have encouraged me so much that I want to take you all on this journey with me. Hence this blog! I am not a blogger by nature. I don't normally live on public feed, however, I do want to try to share the story of this amazing adventure. This is a story that tells of something bigger than the girl, or the artist, the work, the performance or even the place that changes her. There is a bigger story here. Would you like to hear it?
